Dental Crown- One Improper Crown Can Affect Your Look

Dear Readers,

If you have or have a tooth with a changed colour, broken or malpositioned tooth, especially in the front of your mouth, you will agree with me that this is a very unpleasant situation.

It affects the way you speak, the way you eat and the smile. This is also an aesthetic problem and can bother you a lot. All these problems require a solution that will restore the aesthetics and proper functioning of your teeth.

I had a patient who had a very old crown on his upper left second incisor. He complained that the crown had upset him so much because he was worn and noticeable by the people around him and made him feel uncomfortable.

The crown was very noticeable even from a distance. The dental examination made it clear that the crown was old. It was such a crown where the plastic merged with a metal crown. The shape and size were different from the opposite second right-hand incisor. The difference in colour was obvious.

After removing the old crown, the tooth was prepares for the impression and then sent to the dental laboratory.

After a week the new metal-ceramic crown was prepared to match the colour of the adjacent teeth and shaped like the opposite second incisor.

The aesthetic look of the patient was restored and he could talk and smile without any inconvenience.
