Tooth Decay and Sugar

Dear Readers and Patients,

As I explained in my previous posts -

Caries- Tooth Decay- Which Foods Cause Dental Decay Easy?
and

The Way You Eat Reflects Your Dental Health

Sugar is very harmful to the development of cavities and subsequent complications.

Anyone who consumes large amounts of sugar is prone to developing both oral and general disorders - obesity, increased risk of heart attack and stroke, cancer, depression, allergies, liver problems, faster aging.

What happens in the mouth?

Bacteria convert sugars into acids that begin to dissolve tooth enamel. This leads to the development of cavities. And not only this.
What happens if oral hygiene is not good?

You can pay attention to the previous post. Why Perfect Hygiene is so Important

(Dr. Trenkova' s records)

Today people consume sugar throughout the year and in large quantities, not to mention the children. As I said in my previous post – Caries- Tooth Decay- Which Foods Cause Dental Decay Easy-  The reason for this is the immaturity of the dental structures.
We all have to be very responsible for the teeth and the health of children, because it can help them or lead to terrible consequences in the future.
Sugar is practically in almost everything we consume. There is no way to avoid it completely. But we can limit it.

My advice is to read the labels and calculate the daily amount of sugar you consume.

I will give an example.
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the maximum amount of added sugars you should eat in a day are:
Men: 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons)
Women: 100 calories per day (25 grams or 6 teaspoons)

Dear Readers, Please be responsible for your oral and general health as well as for the health of your children and everyone else.

Of course I get to the most important thing again - Perfect Oral Hygiene!

You can look at my post -  Advices To My Patients For Good Oral Hygiene

  5. Tooth decay formation takes place due to a process called demineralization. The term "demineralization" simply describes the fact that minerals (like calcium compounds) are leached (dissolved away) from a tooth's hard tissues (enamel, dentin, cementum). for more information you can visit Dentist Houston TX.
